FINCA Bank has become a sponsor of the National photo competition “Study. Make savings. Earn money” within the Global Money Week.
The Global Money Week is annual international campaign inspiring children and youth to take interest in money and opportunity of make savings, employment and opening their own business. This time the celebration lasted from March 27 to April 2 throughout the world. The closing ceremony of the Kyrgyz #GMW and awarding the winners of the contests took place on April 3 in the National library for children and youth named after K. Bayalinov in Bishkek.
This year FINCA Bank supported a photo competition. This contest was directed to raising the level of the financial literacy and attracting the attention of children and youth to the necessity to cultivate the ability to manage finance, set goals and develop financial plans. The participants of the contest were young citizens under 25, including the residents of remote regions and villages.
Margarita Cherikbaeva, the Chairperson of the Management Board of the Bank has delivered a inaugural speech at the awarding ceremony. She emphasized the importance of holding such events and handed deposit certificated to the amounts ranged from 2,500 to 5,000 soms to the winners.
The first prizes were given to Aytilek Shayloobekova and Kerez Asybek kyzy; Dzhanbek Narali Nurbekuly and Venera Zhalieva held the second place, and the third prizes were given to Dariya Peri Isakova and Bekzot Siddikov. Special awards were given to the “Svetly put” orphanage, Ayana Orombekova and Karomatullo Rasulov.
Though the Global Money Week has officially completed, after the end of spring holidays seminars on financial literacy will be held in schools and universities of Kyrgyzstan. We will report additional details about the general outcomes of the GMW photo report on the event.
