Today, financial literacy is one of priority goals. Being necessary element, it facilitates sound decision-making, minimize risk and enhance financial security.
Financial security (individual) of every citizen determines guarantee of financial security of the whole society. When every member of the society can take care about himself/herself, not entrusting responsibility on other people, only then we can talk about prosperity and development.
Financial literacy allows the individual not to be dependent on circumstances, will of superior persons and operating system. It is like a mean against economic trouble. We always worry and take umbrella if we are foreboding about raining.
Envisaged for such cases, the FINCA’s project on financial literacy trains the population to be ready for various situations. Educating people of various occupations and different age for several years, FINCA strives for formation of lending culture, culture of interaction with the financial institution, reasonable economy and savings.
During the first half of 2014, FINCA’s trainers on financial literacy held 115 training workshops. 2 240 people in 103 villages participated in training course, which included themes on crediting, family budget, financial plan, risk under crediting, etc.
FINCA actively participated in big specialized campaigns and conferences, which also became a platform to discuss financial literacy in our country. FINCA took part in annual global campaign “Global Money Week”, within which 118 countries all over the world conduct actions of savings and teach the youth how to use money in rational way. The project on financial literacy, which was one of the first projects, was presented at the Bishkek International Conference and the International Microfinancial Conference.
Additionally, a column on financial literacy is published regularly in two local newspapers, website of the media-partner, official FINCA’s website and official FINCA’s page in social networks. In future, it is planned to hold trainings and design modules for the school pupils and students of the high educational institutes.
