On May 24, 2018, the NEW BISHKEK contest for the best urban infrastructure project was launched at the press conference that took place at the Kabar News National Agency.
The contest was organized by the Institute for Youth Development in cooperation with the Bishkek Development Agency and with the financial support of FINCA Bank.
The contest is held to engage active and concerned citizens in the solution of pressing problems faced by the city, as well as to make the public a direct participant in the process of development projects implementation in Bishkek.
There are three subject areas of the contest:
– Open youth public spaces – this area encompasses the projects that consider the establishment of creative zones for recreation and work/leisure, sports grounds, etc.;
– Public art – installations, urban events, social startups, etc. can be presented here;
– IT solutions – this subject area focuses on the development of applications, web-sites, GIS, etc.
The nationals of the Kyrgyz Republic over the age of 14, associations and groups, as well as all interested permanent residents of the Kyrgyz Republic may participate in the contest. Professional architects, IT specialists, artists and designers, as well as the students of creative specialties are encouraged to participate.
The winners in each of the nominations will receive an award of 0 and[,000 for the implementation of their initiative. 30 projects will be selected for the contest final, while winners will be determined by online voting on the website of the Agency.
